This section covers the basic steps for seeking technical assistance with
the HP visualization center sv6 solution. Its purpose is to help you
gather essential information about your problem for the HP Technical
Consultant. For more specific information on troubleshooting
components, refer to the appropriate section of the "Troubleshooting
Tree."
If you need direct technical consulting, you will be asked about the
measures you've already taken to address your problems. Please keep
track of them carefully.
It will be helpful if you isolate your problem to one of the following
components, prior to contacting the HP Technical Consultant:
• HP J6000 Workstations
• Wide Field Display
• Stereoscopic viewing aid
• Compositor
• Network
1. Power down all electrical hardware including any interface boxes.
Then, power up in this order (from Workstation out to display):
• Compositor
• Workstations
• All network switchboxes and hubs
• Monitor or Wide Field Display output devices
• Stereo equipment
If this does not clear up the condition, proceed to Step 2.
2. If you are using standard monitor(s) as your output device, proceed to
Step 4. Detach the Workstations from the Wide Field Display and
ensure that appropriate console monitors are directly attached to the
graphics adapters. If the same problem can be seen on direct monitors
versus the Wide Field Display, proceed to the "Troubleshooting HP
Workstations" section.
3. If a visual problem shows up on the Wide Field Display but not on the
attached Workstation consoles (this includes stereo viewing modes),
proceed to the "Wide Field Display" section.
