Installing the Ground Wire

The AT-iMG646 gateway must be connected to a good earth ground.
All Countries: Install product in accordance with local and
National Electrical Codes.
To install the ground wire, perform the following procedure:
1. Prepare an adequate length of 14AWG stranded grounding wire for the
ground connection.
1. Strip 0.25 in. (.635 cm) of insulation from the ground wire and crimp it
into the ground wire ring lug (provided).
2. Remove the Kepnut from the ground wire post (see Figure 5 on page
35).
3. Secure the ground wire ring lug on the ground wire post using the
Kepnut, as shown in Figure 11.

4. Secure the fiber cable and ground wire to the enclosure by wrapping
the wire tie around the cords and cutting off the excess wire tie.
5. Cut a notch into the bottom of the grommet to accommodate the fiber
optic cable and ground wire and reinsert the grommet.
6. Seal the grommet with tape (not provided) and silicone sealant (not
provided.)
7. Connect the other end of the ground wire to the building's grounding
electrode, according to local and national electrical codes
