Graphical remote control unit (GRC unit)

The GRC unit provided with KENWOOD AUDIO VIDEO SURROUND RECEIVER (optionally available) can also remote control the
DVD player. For details, please also refer to the instruction manual of your AUDIO VIDEO SURROUND RECEIVER (optional).

Cautions on using the Graphical Remote Con-
trol (GRC)
When setting the standby mode from the GRC, always operate with
the disc tray closed. If the standby mode is set with disc tray opened,
it will no longer be possible to turn on the power from the GRC. If this
happens, use the POWER key on the main unit to turn OFF the power.
Then, press the POWER key again to turn ON the power.

Basic operation of the DVD player

It is first necessary to assign the DVD player to the GRC unit. The DVD player control screen cannot be displayed unless it has
been assigned to the GRC unit.
1 Assign the connected component (DVD player in this case) to the input selector. (Refer to the instruction manual of the
AUDIO VIDEO SURROUND RECEIVER.)
2 In the segment screen, select the icon of the component to be controlled.
Example: If the DVD player has been assigned to "Video 2", select the "Video 2" icon.

Shows the icons used to select the operation modes.
Play (3) icon
Starts playback.
VOLUME
Pause (8) icon
Lets playback pause temporarily.
Search (1, ¡) icons
Fast forwards or fast reverses a track. With a DVD, also used for

frame-by-frame playback.
Clr (Clear) icon
Clears a track, screen, etc.
Stop (7) icon
Skip icons
Skips tracks, etc. when locating the beginning of a track, etc.
Ret. (Return) icon
Returns to the previous menu (or hierarchy level).
Mode icon
Selects the play mode.
Pwr (Power) icon
When the POWER switch of the player is set to ON, puts it in standby
mode.
F1 to F4 icons
Any of these icons switches the screen to one of the menu screens
represented by F1 to F4.
10-keypad icon
Switches the screen to the numeric icon menu screen.

Icons are displayed according to the controlled component and
operation mode.
4 Joystick
Used to select the icons. (Can be tilted in 4 directions by pushing the
peripheral circle section of the ENTER key.)
5 ENTER key
Press to set or enter the selected icon (operation mode, etc.).

(ON / STANDBY) key
Switches the AUDIO VIDEO SURROUND RECEIVER (option) to the
ON mode or STANDBY mode.
