    7-4-3 Delay Time Setting When playing a DVD recorded with Dolby Digital audio, the distances from the listening position to the center and surround speakers should ideally be identical to those of all other speakers except for the subwoofer. The delay time setting makes it possible to compensate for the difference in distances of actual speakers by delaying the audio output from the center speaker and surround speakers so that the sounds from all speakers reach the listening position at the same timing.
