Explicit Addressing from Notes to GroupWise
To send a message to a GroupWise user using explicit addressing, Notes users must use the
following syntax in the To line:

where foreign_domain is the name of the Notes foreign domain, as set up following the
instructions in

If the user ID is unique in the GroupWise system, then shorter syntax can be used:

Changing the Link Protocol between the Notes Gateway and the
MTA
Before the GroupWise 7 Gateway for Lotus Notes, the Notes Gateway and the MTA
communicated by transferring message files through message queue directories using a mapped/
UNC link. Starting with the GroupWise 7 version of the gateway, you can configure the gateway
so that it uses a TCP/IP link to communicate with the MTA, instead of transferring message files
through queue directories. During installation, the Notes Gateway is configured for a mapped/
UNC link. You can reconfigure it to use a TCP/IP link in ConsoleOne.
