Automating Network Reattachment

When the Notes Gateway loses its link to the server where the GroupWise domain directory
resides or its link to the Notes/Domino server, it can attempt to reestablish the link.

In ConsoleOne, browse to and right-click the Notes Gateway object, then click Properties.

Click GroupWise > Optional Gateway Settings to display the Optional Gateway Settings
page.

Make sure that Enable Recovery is set to Yes.

Fill in the following fields:
Retry Count: Specify the number of times you want the gateway to attempt to recover the
network link. The default is 10 times.
Retry Interval: Specify the amount of time you want the gateway to wait between retry
attempts. The default value is 60 seconds.
Failed Recovery Wait: If the gateway cannot reconnect to the network after the number of
times specified in Retry Count, it will stop attempting to reconnect. Specify the amount of
time you want the gateway to wait until it starts the reconnect process again. The default value
is 3600 seconds (1 hour).
Network Reattach Command: You can create a batch file that the gateway can use to
reconnect to the network server where the GroupWise domain directory resides and to the
Notes/Domino server. Specify the name of the batch file in this field.

Click OK to save the reattachment information.
ConsoleOne then notifies the Notes Gateway to restart so the new settings can be put into
effect.
