3.2 Installation Environment
REDUCED LIFETIME
In environments with airborne liquids, particles, or corrosive gases, ensure that the IP/Type rating of the equipment matches the
installation environment. Failure to meet requirements for ambient conditions can reduce the lifetime of the drive.
Ensure that requirements for air humidity, temperature, and altitude are met.
l
Vibration and shock
The drive complies with requirements for units mounted on the walls and floors of production premises, and in panels bolted to walls or
floors. For detailed ambient conditions, refer to
3.3 Cooling Requirements
OVERHEATING
Improper mounting can result in overheating and reduced performance.
Install the drive following the installation and cooling requirements.
l
The VLT® Decentral Drive FCD 302 has no forced cooling. It relies only on natural convection for cooling using the cooling fins.
Provide a minimum of 100 mm (4 in) top and bottom air cooling clearance during installation, as shown in
l
Derating starts above 40 °C (104 °F) and 1000 m (3280 ft) elevation above sea level. See the VLT® Decentral Drive FCD 302 Design Guide
