Optional filter selection
One optional filter can be installed in the IC-706.
Narrow filters help reject interference from adja-
cent signals and obtain good selectivity.
Wide filters provide improved audio for SSB oper-
ation when no interfering signals are present.
Consult the table at right to select a filter most
suitable for your operating needs.
Narrow filters for AM/FM modes are standard.
FILTER PRESETTING:
After you install a filter (see p. 50 for installation), you
must specify the installed filter in initial set mode
(item 19 OPTIONAL FIL; See p. 45).
FILTER ON/OFF:
® Select I1:3.
e Push [DISP] 1 or 2 times if t1 or 5 appears.
e Push [MENU] one or more times to select l3.
@ Push [(F-1)HHE].
*When the FL-103 sss wipe FILTER is installed, IIL
appears instead of HHF: (except in AM/FM modes).
° (or W) appears.
