5.2 Status indicator light
When power is applied to the analyzer, the status indicator light comes on. Refer to
Product overview
on page 7.
Light color Definition
Green
The analyzer is in operation with no warnings, errors or reminders.
Yellow
The analyzer is in operation with active warnings or reminders.
Red
The analyzer is not in operation due to an error condition. A serious problem has
occurred.
Section 6 Operation
6.1 Configure the basic settings
Set the date and time, language, backlight and alias options for the instrument display.
1. Push Menu > Settings > System.
2. Select the applicable screen and make changes as necessary.
Option
Description
Date&Time Sets the date and time. Push the hours or minutes number, then push + or – to
change the number. Push the date, then use the calendar to set the correct date.
Backlight
Adjusts the display brightness.
Sets the backlight to automatically go off after a specified time. Move the on/off
toggle to the right, then push the time to see the keypad. Enter the number of
minutes.
Language
Sets the language on the display to English or Simplified Chinese.
Alias
Sets a name for the analyzer. The alias name shows in the instrument information
screen.
6.2 Set password protection
Password protection is disabled by default. Enable the password protection to set the instrument
authorization levels.
• Admin—The administrator has access to all of the instrument menus and functions. The
administrator user can reset operator passwords.
Note: There is only one administrator for each instrument. If an administrator password is forgotten or lost,
contact technical support and supply the instrument serial number.
• Operator—An operator has access to some instrument menus and can change some settings.
• Visitor—When password protection is enabled, non approved users are visitors. Visitors can not
change instrument settings. Visitors can only look at measurements and some instrument data.
1. Push Menu > Service > Advanced.
2. Select the Permission screen.
3. Enter a New password for the Admin.
4. Enter the password again to confirm.
5. Push ENABLE PERMISSION, then OK. The approved user icon shows on all screens. The user
must enter a password to see the instrument menus.
6. To enable permission for an operator, select Operator from the User field.
