GVRP Setting
GVRP (GARP VLAN Registration Protocol or Generic VLAN Registration Protocol) is a protocol that facilitates control of virtual
local area networks (VLANs) within a larger network. GVRP conforms to the IEEE 802.1Q specification, which defines a method of
tagging frames with VLAN configuration data. GVRP allows automatic VLAN configuration between the switch and nodes. If the
switch is connected to a device with GVRP enabled, you can send a GVRP request using the VID of a VLAN defined on the switch,
the switch will automatically add that device to the existing VLAN
GVRP can be enabled per port basis. To enable GVRP function for a port, both global GVRP and special port GVRP are required to
configure.
