er sanding paper extending beyond the sanding pad
presents a laceration hazard and may cause snag-
ging, tearing of the disc, or kickback.
GENERAL
This tool should not be used by people under the
f
age of 16 years.
This tool is not intended for use by children and
f
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge.
Ensure that children do not play with the tool.
f
This tool is not suitable for wet sanding.
f
Always disconnect plug from power source before
f
making any adjustment or changing any accessory.
OUTDOOR USE
Connect the tool via a fault current (FI) circuit
f
breaker with a triggering current of 30 mA maxi-
mum.
BEFORE USE
Before using the tool for the first time, it is recom-
f
mended to receive practical information.
Always check that the supply voltage is the same
f
as the voltage indicated on the nameplate of the
tool (tools with a rating of 230V or 240V can also
be connected to a 220V supply).
Use suitable detectors to find hidden utility lines
f
or call the local utility company for assistance (con-
tact with electric lines can lead to fire or electrical
shock; damaging a gas line can result in an explo-
sion; penetrating a water pipe will cause property
damage or an electrical shock).
Do not work materials containing asbestos (asbes-
f
tos is considered carcinogenic).
Dust from material such as paint containing lead,
f
some wood species, minerals and metal may be
harmful (contact with or inhalation of the dust
may cause allergic reactions and/or respiratory dis-
eases to the operator or bystanders); wear a dust
mask and work with a dust extraction device when
connectable.
Certain kinds of dust are classified as carcinogenic
f
(such as oak and beech dust) especially in conjunc-
tion with additives for wood conditioning; wear a
dust mask and work with a dust extraction device
when connectable.
Follow the dust-related national requirements for
f
the materials you want to work with.
Do not clamp the tool in a vice.
f
Use completely unrolled and safe extension cords.
f
DURING USE
Do not touch the moving sanding disc.
f
Do not continue to use worn, torn or heavily
f
clogged sanding discs.
If the cord is damaged or cut through while work-
f
ing, do not touch the cord, but immediately discon-
nect the plug.
Never use the tool when cord is damaged; have it
f
replaced by a qualified person.
In case of electrical or mechanical malfunction, im-
f
mediately switch off the tool and disconnect the
plug.
In case of current interruption or when the plug is
f
accidentally pulled out, unlock the on/off switch
immediately in order to prevent uncontrolled re-
starting.
AFTER USE
After switching off the tool, never stop the rota-
f
tion of the accessory by a lateral force applied
against it.
GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS
Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
f
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one
heavy enough to carry the current your product
will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in
line voltage resulting in loss of power and over-
heating.
Always replace a damaged extension cord or have
f
it repaired by a qualified person before using it.
Protect your extension cords from sharp objects,
f
excessive heat and damp/wet areas.
Use a separate electrical circuit for your tools. This
f
circuit should be protected with the appropriate
time-delayed fuse. Before connecting the motor
to the power line, make sure the switch is in the
OFF position and the electric voltage is rated the
same as the voltage stamped on the motor name-
plate. Running at a lower voltage will damage the
motor.
