Extended Diagnostics
Configuration fault
The Option Board provides PROFIBUS slave diagnostics when used in com-
bination with a PROFIBUS master configuration program (or similar). The
Option Board supports all the pre-defined PROFIBUS diagnostics data. Some
additional (extended) diagnostic data is added to provide you with extensive
means to troubleshoot errors in the Option Board, Inverter and/or network.
Note
A properly implemented PROFIBUS master configuration program should be
able to automatically interpret the diagnostic messages generated by the
Option Board using the GSD file. If for some reason you have to manually
interpret the diagnostic messages, refer to Appendix H.
Possible Cause(s)
If you are not in data exchange with the Option
Board: Another PROFIBUS master on the net-
work is in data exchange with the Option
Board.
The parameter data sent by the PROFIBUS
master has been rejected by the Option Board.
the specification of the Option Board.
The PROFIBUS wiring is not correct.
The PROFIBUS network has not been termi-
nated correctly.
ported message to the Option Board.
The Option Board has sent extended diagnos-
tic information.
The selected device profile (P182) does not
support the configured module in your PROFI-
BUS master configuration program (Refer to
section 3-1).
Corrective Action
• Remove the other PROFIBUS master from
the network.
• Remove the Option Board from the config-
uration of the other PROFIBUS master.
Check (and correct) the following items:
• Does the node address of any OTHER
slave device on the PROFIBUS network
match P180?
• Are you using the correct GSD file in your
PROFIBUS master configuration
gram?
• If you are using OMRON CX-Configurator:
Is the 'Enable DPV1 option' on the 'DPV1'
tab checked?
Check (and correct) the following items:
• Is the PROFIBUS master compatible with
the specification of the Option Board?
• Are there any intermittent cable faults?
Check (and correct) the following items:
• Are there any intermittent short circuits or
line interruptions?
• Are you using the correct cable type?
• If you have branches from the PROFIBUS
cable main line: Are any of these branches
too long?
Follow the instruction provided in the PROFI-
BUS Installation Guideline for Cabling and
Assembly to correctly terminate the network.
Check (and correct) the following items:
• Is the PROFIBUS master configured to
send messages that are not supported by
the Option Board?
• Is the PROFIBUS master compatible with
the specification of the Option Board?
Use your PROFIBUS master configuration pro-
gram to read the extended diagnostic informa-
tion. Refer to section 5-2-2 for further
troubleshooting.
• Change the device profile to support the
selected module in the PROFIBUS master
configuration program.
• Selected a module in the PROFIBUS mas-
ter configuration program that is supported
by the selected device profile.
