Height Adjustment
Warnings:
- DO NOT perform any tasks without first reading and understanding all of the safety information and provided instructions.
- The appropriate back height for the individual should be determined by a Permobil-authorized technician or a clinician.
- If performed correctly and with caution, the height adjustment may be made while the individual is in the wheelchair. If you find the height adjustment too difficult
or unsafe to make while the individual is in the wheelchair, have the individual transfer safely out of the wheelchair.
Note: Adjust the height only after installing AGILITY on the wheelchair. See the instructions in this manual for installation on the wheelchair.
To adjust the height:
1. On both sides, loosen the nylon-insert lock nuts just enough to allow the
AGILITY to slide up and down.
2. To select the desired height, slide the
AGILITY up or down.
Warning: If an AGILITY is
NOT positioned to make contact with
the Posterior Superior Iliac Spine
(PSIS), pelvic support and trunk
control may be reduced.
Make sure that the AGILITY height is
positioned so that the bottom portion
makes contact with the PSIS. See
the PSIS image on this page.
3. Finger-tighten the lock nuts, then use a wrench to tighten the lock nuts until
snug + one-quarter turn.
Note: If a torque wrench is available, tighten the lock nuts to 42 ± 2 inch-
pounds (4.75 ± 0.25 Newton-meters).
4. Updates to programming may be required to prevent contact between the wheelchair and AGILITY / accessories during power recline. Check for interference.
See the warning below.
Warning: Interference during recline may result in: the AGILITY backrest slipping or instability; injury to the user; damage to the AGILITY or to accessories
attached to the AGILITY; or damage to the wheelchair. Check for interference during recline when: 1) installing the AGILITY for the first time, 2) adding any
accessories to the AGILITY, or 3) making any adjustments to the height of the AGILITY. For reprogramming or adjustments to the recline angle range, consult with
a Permobil-authorized technician.
