Maintenance

The device is delivered with default adjustment settings. The
date of the last adjustment can be recalled in the menu.
Dräger recommends that the device be adjusted once a year.
Have the device adjusted only by authorized persons, e.g.
DrägerService.
Comply with the national guidelines governing adjustment.
6.1

Charging the rechargeable battery

WARNING
Risk of burns and electric shock
Using the device with a power supply unit that has not been
approved by Dräger may cause burns and electric shocks to
the operator/subject when charging the rechargeable battery.
► Use only the power supply unit specified in the order list
(see "Order list", page 24).
► Do not connect the device to the cable and do not charge
the device when carrying out measurements on the
subject.
WARNING
Fire and explosion hazard
If the device is exposed to sunlight or high ambient
temperatures, the battery may overheat.
► Protect the device from sunlight and high ambient
temperatures.
► If the device has been exposed to sunlight or high ambient
temperatures, leave it to cool down.
Measurements cannot be performed during the charging
process.
Do not charge the rechargeable battery at temperatures
outside the permissible temperature range of 0 to 45 °C.
Ensure that the power supply unit is easily accessible
during charging.
● Connect the USB-C cable to the USB-C port of the device
and a USB charger.
 The rechargeable battery will charge.

Cleaning

Clean the device using an alcohol-based cleaning agent.
To clean the device:
1. Switch off the device.
2. If necessary, disconnect the device
from the power supply.
3. Remove the mouthpiece from the
device.
Ensure that no liquid gets into the
plastic piece of the mouthpiece
receptacle on the top of the device.
4. Wipe the device down with a
disposable cloth with the cleaning
agent. Do not apply the cleaning
agent directly to the device.
5. Do not put the device in a closed box or carton after
cleaning so that the cleaning agent can evaporate. Store
the device at room temperature (20-25 °C).

6. Carry out a functional test to ensure that there is no
ethanol clinging to the device, which could distort future
measurements. If ALCOHOL is displayed, do not use the
device and repeat the test a while later. Carry out another
functional test to ensure that there is no ethanol clinging to
the device and that the NO ALC. result is displayed.

Storage

● Do not permanently store the device in its delivery
packaging.
Maintain the charge level of the rechargeable batteries.
Charge to at least 50% every 6 months if not used for a
prolonged period of time to avoid shortening the life span.

Disposal

This product must not be disposed of as household
waste. This is indicated by the adjacent icon.
You can return this product to Dräger free of charge. For
information please contact the national marketing
organisations and Dräger.
Batteries must not be disposed of as household waste.
They are therefore marked with the adjacent symbol.
Dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries at bat-
tery collection centers as specified by the applicable
regulations.
