72 PERIODIC SERVICE
BChecking Engine Start System
To avoid personal injury or death:
A Do not allow anyone near the tractor while
testing.
A If the tractor does not pass the test, do not
operate the tractor.
C Preparation before testing.
1. Place all control levers in the "NEUTRAL" position.
2. Set the parking brake and stop the engine.
C Test : Switch for the speed control pedal.
1. Sit on the operator's seat.
2. Depress the speed control pedal to the desired
direction.
3. Depress the clutch pedal fully.
4. Disengage the PTO clutch control switch, and
disengage the rear and mid-PTO gear shift levers.
5. Turn the key to "START" position.
6. The engine must not crank.
7. If it cranks, consult your local KUBOTA Dealer for this
service.
C Test : Switch for the rear PTO gear shift lever.
1. Sit on the operator's seat.
2. Engage the rear PTO gear shift lever, and disengage
the mid-PTO gear shift lever.
3. Depress the clutch pedal fully.
4. Place the speed control pedal in "NEUTRAL" position.
5. Turn the key to "START" position.
6. The engine must not crank.
7. If it cranks, consult your local KUBOTA Dealer for this
service.
C Test : Switch for the mid-PTO gear shift lever.
1. Sit on the operator's seat.
2. Disengage the rear PTO gear shift lever, and engage
the mid-PTO gear shift lever.
3. Depress the clutch pedal fully.
4. Place the speed control pedal in "NEUTRAL" position.
5. Turn the key to "START" position.
6. The engine must not crank.
7. If it cranks, consult your local KUBOTA Dealer for this
service.
C Test : Switch for the clutch pedal.
1. Sit on the operator's seat.
2. Disengage the PTO clutch control switch, and
disengage the rear and mid-PTO gear shift levers.
3. Place the speed control pedal in "NEUTRAL" position.
4. Release the clutch pedal.
5. Turn the key to "START" position.
6. The engine must not crank.
7. If it cranks, consult your local KUBOTA Dealer for this
service.
