Settings

This screen allows to set a number of experiment-independent parameters on the
instrument and software updates. Press "Main" to go back to the main screen.
5.8.1

Tab "Process"

"Ext. remote alarm on" enables/disables a remote alarm signal via a jack plug on
the rear of the main instrument. Upon critical alarms (e.g., risk of evaporation of
the secondary cryogen), the potential free contact closes.
To have the LED illumination of the Dewar and the environmental chamber
automatically switch on during start up, activate the check box "light on at start-up".
Activate "switch light automatically off" to switch off the LEDs after a user defined
time. This time can be set by pressing the "Set" button.
The light can be switched on or off at any time with the "light" button on the bottom
of the main screen.
The humidifier is disabled by default during sensor blotting to avoid interference
with the measurement. By unchecking the checkbox
be activated during this phase, as well.
By default, the chamber fan is disabled during plunging to prevent humidity from
the environmental chamber being blown into the secondary cryogen. This
behaviour can be changed by un-checking
To minimise the disturbance of the dry gaseous N
preparation area on top of the Dewar, the movement speed of the environmental
chamber just above the Dewar can be reduced to approx. 1/3. The check boxes in
the lower right part of the "Process" tab allow to enable/disable this slow-down for
the down and the up movements separately.
