Disposal

7.1

Decommissioning

To prepare the EM GP2 for decommissioning, empty the humidifier tank
(Section 6.3.1) and drip tray (Section 5.4.3), and remove any leftover cryogen
liquid from the LN
a bake-out (Section 5.7) until the device is completely free of moisture. Afterwards,
turn off the device and unplug it from the power supply.
Remove or disassemble all accessories and consumables (Section 4.4) and store
them into an appropriate storage container. In case of a temporary decommission,
follow the instructions for relocation and storage in Sections 3.2 and 3.3.
7.2
Disposal
Disposal of the device must be done by a waste recycling contractor authorized to
collect and dispose WEEE.
Before disposing, ensure there are no radioactive, highly corrosive, explosive,
toxic, or human pathogenic substances inside the device. Failure to do so might
endanger the WEEE recycling company's personnel. In case these substances
cannot be reliably removed, contact your corresponding authorities for further
information regarding special waste disposal.
