particularly the tank, cap, hose and all
seals.
► Ensure that the trigger switch and retaining
latch move freely. The trigger switch must
not engage until the retaining latch is
moved to the unlocked position.
► Never attempt to modify or override the
controls or safety devices in any way.
► If your sprayer or any part is damaged or
does not function properly, take it to your
authorized STIHL servicing dealer. Do not
use the sprayer until the problem has been
corrected.
■ Exposing the battery to chemical agents
increases the risk of short circuit, fire and
explosion.
► Never operate the sprayer without the bat‐
tery compartment cover properly secured in
place.
► If the battery compartment cover is missing,
worn or damaged, replace it before filling
the container or spraying any type of solu‐
tion.
■ Before inserting the battery:
► Check the electrical contacts in the battery
compartment for corrosion or other foreign
matter. Keep clean.
► Never insert or use a malfunctioning, dam‐
aged, cracked, leaking or deformed battery.
► Read and follow the instructions on switch‐
ing on the sprayer,
■ To reduce the risk of serious personal injury
from unintentional starting or fluid seepage
from the spray nozzle:
► Never carry the spraying attachment with
your finger on the trigger switch.
► Be sure the retaining latch is in the locked
position before inserting or removing the
battery.
► Remove the battery before assem‐
bling, transporting, inspecting, clean‐
ing, servicing, maintaining or storing
the sprayer, and any other time it is
not in use.
► Never leave the sprayer unattended when
the battery is inserted.
► Always switch off the sprayer, remove the
battery and depress the trigger switch to
depressurize the system after use.
► Never store the battery in the sprayer.

Holding and Controlling the Sprayer
WARNING
■ To maintain a firm grip and properly control
your sprayer:
► Keep the spray attachment clean at all
times. Keep it free of pitch, oil, grease and
resin.
■ To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries to
the operator or bystanders from loss of con‐
trol:
► Always hold the spray gun firmly when you
are working.
► Wrap your fingers tightly around the spray
gun.
► Position the spray attachment in such a
way that all parts of your body are clear of
the spray jet.
■ To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries to
the operator or bystanders from loss of con‐
trol, keep proper footing and balance at all
times:
► Take special care in overgrown or wet ter‐
rain and always watch for hidden obstacles
such as tree stumps, roots, rocks, holes
and ditches to avoid stumbling or falling.
► Be extremely cautious when working on
slopes or uneven ground.
■ To reduce the risk of injury from loss of con‐
trol:
► Never work on a ladder, roof, in a tree or
while standing on any other insecure sup‐
port.
