Inspecting and Maintaining the
Sprayer
WARNING
■ Remove the battery and relieve system pres‐
sure before inspecting the sprayer or carrying
out any maintenance,
the maintenance operations described in this
manual. There are no user-authorized repairs.
STIHL recommends that repair work be per‐
formed by authorized STIHL servicing dealers.

22.1
Sprayer and Battery
Always remove the battery before carrying out any inspection, cleaning or maintenance.

Proper maintenance of the sprayer includes the
following activities:
► Periodically cleaning the filter and spray noz‐
zle to ensure they are not clogged or blocked.
► Inspecting the unit (including battery compart‐
ment cover, container, hoses, valves, cou‐
plings, connectors, gaskets and other compo‐
nents) periodically and having worn, damaged
or missing components replaced.
► Having worn, missing or damaged safety
labels replaced by an authorized STIHL serv‐
icing dealer.
Remedy
► Remove the battery,
► Visually check the electrical contacts in the bat‐
tery compartment and on the battery.
► Reinsert the battery,
► Charge the battery,
► Allow the battery to warm up or cool down grad‐
ually at ambient temperatures of about 50 °F to
68 °F (10 °C to 20 °C).
► Remove the battery and reinsert it,
► Switch on the sprayer,
► If the LEDs continue to flash, do not attempt to
use.
The battery has a malfunction and must be
replaced.
► Remove the battery and reinsert it,
► Switch on the sprayer,
► If the LEDs still flash, do not attempt to use.
The sprayer has a malfunction and must be
checked by a servicing dealer.
► Remove the battery,
► Allow the sprayer and battery to cool down grad‐
ually at ambient temperatures of about 50 °F to
68 °F (10 °C to 20 °C).
► Charge the battery,
► Have the battery checked by an authorized
STIHL servicing dealer.
