Calibration

1.
Weights and Measures applications
require calibration to national standards
by a certified calibration technician.
2.
If the system is not fully primed, flush the
metered dispense valve. See Flush
Equipment, page 11.
3.
Dispense a predetermined volume of
fluid. This volume is not the amount
displayed on the meter, but determined
by measuring the dispensed volume by
other means. Note and record this
volume as the VOLUME DISPENSED,
see Calculating the K-Factor, Step 9,
page 16. The dispensed volume should
be measured and traceable back to an
international metrological standard.
Discuss with local calibration
consultants for methods used to
accurately determine the volume
dispensed.

For best results, dispense a similar
volume to what the meter will be
measuring when in use. Performing
multiple calibration dispenses and
calculations can be made for increasing
the confidence level for the new
calibration factor.
4.
Note and record the volume displayed
on the metered dispense valve. This
volume is the VOLUME DISPLAYED ON
METER. See Calculating the K-Factor,
Step 9, page 16.
5.
Determine the current calibration factor.
