12. Using the unit

The inverter operation management is done through the web application.

12.1. Inverter management through the web application

It is possible to access the control application from various types of device (smartphone, tablet or computer). The
inverter can be managed from the control application either locally (inverter and device connected to the same
communication network) or remotely (inverter and device connected to different communication networks).
The following sections describe the process for connecting the inverter locally or remotely.
The factory settings of the communications include:
Ethernet interface in DHCP mode.
Wi-Fi interface only in Access Point mode.

12.2. Connecting to the inverter locally through its Wi-Fi network

INFO
The Wi-Fi communication network generated by the inverter has a 2.4 GHz wireless frequency.
The inverter has a label attached to it that indicates the SSID and password of the Wi-Fi network (Default local
Wi-Fi access point).
The inverter acts as a Wi-Fi access point, generating a SoftAP network. Follow the steps below to connect locally to
this network:
Connecting with a smartphone or tablet
1.
Install the INGECON SUN Monitor app.
2.
Log in as an authorized installer and press the
3.

Connecting with a computer
1.
Connect to the Wi-Fi network generated by the inverter.
2.
In the web browser, access the web application at http://169.254.1.1. You must log in as an authorized
installer.
3.
Enter using the user name and password defined on the label attached to the inverter (Default local
access login).

12.3. Connecting the inverter to a Wi-Fi network

INFO
The Wi-Fi communication network that the inverter is to be connected to must have a 2.4 GHz wireless
frequency.
Ingeteam establishes a minimum Wi-Fi signal level received by the inverter of 50% (-75 dBm) to ensure an
optimum connection.
In order to connect the inverter to an existing Wi-Fi network, follow the steps below:
1.
Connect to the inverter locally (see
2.
