When paper gets stuck somewhere along
the paper path, this is referred to as
a paper jam.
A type of interface in which data is
transmitted and received in bytes
rather than bits.

Parity is the addition of one or more
redundant bits of information used to
verify data accuracy.

bits contain an odd number of 1 bits,
the parity bit is set at 1, otherwise,
it is left as 0.

calculate parity in the same way.
printer receiving information compares
its parity calculations with those
transmitted by the sending computer.
