The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
(TPMS) determines whether the tyre
pressure is low through sensors in the
wheel, which detects changes in tyre
radius and vibration whilst driving. For
this system to work properly, you need to
reset and save the current tyre pressure.
After resetting the TPMS, when one or
more of your tyres are under-inflated
compared to the saved tyre pressure, a
warning light appears on the instrument
cluster. A warning light also appears if
there is a problem with the TPMS system.
For more information on warning lights
and TPMS reset, refer to the following
section in this chapter.
