This option includes an internal add-on module that does the following in the event of a
power failure:
• Unlocks the charging cable
• Sends a fault message to the backend
Ethernet interface
An RJ45 socket for connecting a network cable is installed for the version with Ethernet
interface. Use this Ethernet interface to connect to the backend via a standard router or
switch. A mobile wireless connection is not possible with this version.
A conversion kit is available for converting systems with a 4G module. To do this, follow the
instructions in the Repair instructions
(https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109793281). Section Spare parts (Page
108) includes the article number of the conversion kit.
You can find the overview of the various article numbers in the section Overview of article

For technical specifications, see section Options available for orders (Page 111).
NOTICE
Network configuration and security standards
Adhere to the IT security rules and IT security standards for the network configuration. Use a
secured channel for communication to the OCPP server.
• Encrypted connection, e.g. TLS
• Websocket connection
The operator of the charging station is responsible for protecting the infrastructure.
Connecting the network cable
Follow the steps below to connect the network cable:
1. Shorten the network cable to match the routing for strain relief and connection to the
RJ45 socket.
2. Mount an RJ45 plug on the network cable according to the plug manufacturer's
instructions.
3. Test the network cable with a suitable measuring instrument.
4. Insert the RJ45 plug into the Ethernet interface socket.
5. Attach the strain reliefs to the retaining rail (C mounting rail).
The manufacturer recommends OBO clamps (BBS clamps) that match the cable diameter.
These clamps are not included in the scope of delivery.
Overvoltage protection
If you have ordered the overvoltage protection option, an additional internal add-on module
is installed.
This module is a 4-pin combination arrester with a remote signaling contact. It limits the
follow-on current, displays errors, and outputs a trip notification via OCPP.
