7 . EDIT MODE
When the position, character size and character attribute have been set by following the
orocedure described so far, the cursor will move to the first character of the next t o be
displayed
Insertion or deletion of one character at a time.

When the [SET] key is pressed, the window shown below opens on the screen.

Select the required item with the

keys and confirm with the
[ENTER]

If INSERT is selected the window shown below opens and the character to be inserted
can be chosen.

The characters used with the FX-40DU-E can be broadly divided
into alphabet and user-defined characters; select one of these
USER DEFINED
categories.
Select the character type by using the [
v
] or
[ A
] key and then
press the [ENTER] key; the character list will be displayed.
Example: Change the message "AUTO MODE" to "AUTO MODE ON"
Move
the
cursor to CR and press the
[SEV
key.

Move the cursor to ALPHABET and press the [ENTER] key.

When all settings are completed the message SETTING? will be displayed. If the setting is
correct, press the [ENTER] key at OK to register it.
However, if the error message "SETTING IS INCORRECT" is displayed, clear the error message
by pressing the [CLEAR] key and then check for a mistake in the position and size settings
(screens whose objects project beyond the screen boundaries cannot be displayed).
Select CANCEL to start the modification procedure again from the POS. setting
