7.3.1 Run VHF COMM Amplitude Modulation (AM) Receive

The main screen of the COMM AM Receive application also contains configurable
parameters. These configurable fields have a blue background.

Table 7-1 COMM Setup Parameters
Setting
This parameter allows for compensation (0.0 to 22.0 dB) of an
External Attenuator on the RF I/O Connector. This is used for
extending the power monitor rating and range. Any value for
External Attenuator is added to any other loss value (cable
loss) and that value is displayed on all Mode Screens in the Ext
Loss Field under the RF LEVEL Field.
PRESET, CHANNEL OR VAR: PRESET provides a set of fixed
frequencies; CHANNEL allows the selection of any on-channel
frequency; VAR allows selection of frequency in 10kHz steps.
This allows selection between Numeric Step and Numeric Entry.
Numeric Step allows the Frequency and RF Power fields on the
main screen to be adjusted in step values. Numeric Entry allows
for any value in the defined range to be entered.
Allows step value to be selected between 0.5 dB, 1.0 dB, 10.0
dB
