Emergency Stop Termination
In order to use the local control switch, you must have a completed Emergency Stop circuit (also known
as E-stop). This circuit will not be complete until the control system has been installed. In the interim,
use the 9-pin Emergency Stop Bypass Plug to complete the circuit. This will allow you to temporarily
operate the hoist from the local control switch.
Insert the 9-pin E-stop Bypass Plug into the 9-pin male connector on the top panel of the Powerhead,
located next to the power cord. The E-stop circuit will be complete and you will be able to use the local
control switch.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:
Operate Hoist
Once the E-stop Termination Plug is in place and you have verified the proper phase order at the PCD
box, you may operate the hoist from the local control switch.
1:
Check the entire work area for any obstructions, loose tools, debris, people, or other hazards
that may interfere with the hoist operation.
2:
Plug the Motor Control Box power cord into the PCD box outlet.
3:
Turn on the PCD circuit breaker.
4:
Turn on the power switch on the rear of the Motor Control Box.
5:
Verify that the hoist has power by looking at the "POWER" LED on the rear panel of the Motor
Control Box.
6:
Call out the intended movement direction of the hoist (such as "Hoist flying out!").
Note:
7:
Press the "LOCAL CONTROL" button towards the UP direction.
8:
Verify that the batten is moving upwards.
CAUTION:
9:
After running the hoist for a few seconds, release the control switch.
10:
Press the switch in the "DOWN" direction.
11:
Verify that the hoist is moving downwards.
12:
Release the control switch before the batten reaches its original position.
24
Do not insert the E-stop Termination Plug into a Power and Control
Distribution Box (PCD). Doing so could short out the control wiring.
Do not leave the hoist unattended when the E-stop Termination Plug is in
place.
If you will be leaving the hoist for any period of time, remove the E-stop
Termination Plug.
Your hoist may be at the lower overtravel limit. You may need to press the overtravel
override button in order to move your hoist.
If the hoist does not move or moves in the wrong direction, release the
control button immediately to avoid any potential damage to the hoist.
Once the hoist is stopped, disconnect power and verify the wiring at the PCD
circuit breaker once again. If the circuit breaker wiring is correct, contact ETC
