Once the hoist is in a vertical orientation and supported
only by the tail end lifting device, remove the two center
slings and open the tail and motor end beam clamps so
they are able to accept the mounting beam flanges.
12:
Using the tail end lifting device, raise or lower the hoist so
that the motor end beam clamps are aligned with the
lower mounting beam. Adjust the tail end beam clamps to
align with the upper mounting beam.
13:
Push the hoist horizontally so that the hoist backbone rests
against the mounting beam flanges.
14:
Starting with the motor end beam clamps, begin an
alternating sequence of tightening each side. You want to
do this incrementally until both beam clamps are as close
to contacting the beam flange as possible.
15:
Install the lower backbone stiffener, threaded rod, locking
nuts and backbone clamp as described in
Backbone Stiffeners
16:
Continue tightening the motor end beam clamps until the
backbone is tightly secured against the beam flange.
Torque to 23-27 Nm (17-20 ft/lbs).
17:
Begin the same alternating sequence of tightening the tail end beam clamps until both sides are
as close to contacting the mounting beam flange as possible.
18:
Install the other backbone stiffener, threaded rod, locking
nuts and backbone clamp as described in
Backbone Stiffeners
19:
Continue tightening the tail end beam clamps until the
backbone is tightly secured against the beam flange.
Torque to 23-27 Nm (17-20 ft/lbs).
20:
Tighten the backbone stiffener clamp set screws to13.5 Nm
(10 ft/lb).
21:
Using a 1/4" allen key, tighten all four 5/16 x 18 socket
head screws on the two Tail End sliding beam clamps to
13.5 Nm (10 ft/lb).
22:
Remove the tail end lifting device and the lifting ring.
