Water Pump
Water Seal
Inspection
Check the inspection hole for signs of coolant
leakage.
Replace the
water
seal if coolant is leaking (page 5-6)
.
Desassembly
Drain the radiator coolant (page 5-3).
Remove the fo llowing:
-
Water pump cover bolts and cover
-
Outer gasket
- Plate
-
Dowel pin
Remove the following:
-
Inner gasket
-
Impeller and plain washer
-
Right crankcase cover (page 9 -2)
-
Water pump shaft from the right crankcase cover
Check the water pump shaft and gear to be sure they are not
bent or
damaged.
