MANUAL
2.
Install yoke to valve crank pin using new cotter
pin. Valve assembly, complete wifh mounting
bracket is now ready for installation.
3. Mount the valve assembly with two hex nuts and screws.
4.
Slide front and rear hoses over inlet and outlet of
valve assembly and fasten clamps.
5. Install the valve control handle from the inside of the
coach.
BLOWER MOTORS
All blower motors are 24-volt units of con-
ventional design. Defective motors may be repaired
according to standard procedures.
CAUTION -
Do not use emery cloth or sahd-
paper for seatrng brushes or cleaning commutators.
Motors brushes should be checked at regular in-
tervals. If brush length is below 3/4" they must be
replaced, otherwise serious damage may result to
motor armature.
New brushes should be seated using a bedding
stone.
Figure 16 -6: Condenser Blower Motor
and Resistor Assy.
A
resistor is mounted under the condenser motor
mounting base. It is a I high-wattage resistor, connected in
series and is installed in the 2
H.P.
condenser motor ground
circuit.
The resistor dampens the current in-rush at motor
starts, thus prolonging the armature and brush life.
Remove the two screws retaining the resistor to
mounting bracket.
Pull out the resistor for visual inspection. Brush or
blow away any foreign particles.
NOTE:
If it is necessary to
check motor current draw, resistor should be bypassed to
obtain correct ammeter reading.
TEMPERATURE
The temperature control is a rheostat unit which
increases the resistance in the thermostat sensing
element, causing cycling at higher or lower tern-
peratures (68°- 78°).
This unit is installed at the driver's switch panel
and provides a means of selecting a temperature
range which is then automatically maintained by the
action of the thermostat and water valves.
