bly from the body. Remove inlet valve (8) from stem
(5), spring retainer (9) and inlet valve spring (6).
Turn the piston (2) over, depress the inlet valve stem
(5) fully. This will loosen piston plug (3) with O-ring
(4) from center of piston. Remove piston O-ring (4 ).
lubricate the piston, grommets and body bores with
recommended lubricant BW-204-M (M .C.I. Part No.
4A-15-l 13). Install valve stem (5) in piston (2). Put
small O-ring (4) on the piston plug (3 ). Install piston
plug
(3)
pressing snugly into piston body (2). Install
inlet valve spring (6), spring retainer (9) and snap on
rubber inlet valve. Slip piston O-ring ( I 0) on end of
piston (2) and move to the shoulder of the body (7).
Insert the piston (2) into the valve body (7) slowly so
as not to cut O-ring ( I 0). Place spring

into center
of piston. Replace adjusting cap lock nut (11 ).
Replace adjusting cap nut (12).
CLEANING AND INSPECTION
Wash metal parts in a good cleaning solvent. Rub-
ber parts such as O-rings should be wiped clean. In-
spect all parts for wear or deterioration. Check
spring for cracks, corrosion or distortion. Inspect all
rubber parts and replace if they show signs of cracks,
wear, deterioration or are swollen.
TESTING FOR SERVICEABILITY
ASSEMBLY.
Before assembling the pressure protection valve,
Test and check the pressure protection valve as
outlined in "Operating and Leaking Checks".
MALFUNCTION
Bel lows deflate overtime.
Bellows raise to full
height and fail to
exhaust air pressure.
Intermittent hissing noise
at height control valve
during operation.
Erratic valve action.
Vehicle body fails to
out.

Replace check valve assembly.

or gasket.
