Serial digital video is converted to parallel and embedded audio, VITC and PESA Source ID are extracted
from it. The audio is converted to analog (7700SID-AM only) and delivered out the high density DB-15
connector on the rear of the card. The audio is also read by the CPU and further processed to extract level
information. The CPU creates the level bar graphs and writes them out to the On Screen Display (OSD)
memory.
The CPU also reads raw VITC and PESA SID data and extracts time code and the source ID information.
The time code and source ID message is also written to the OSD memory.
The hardware pulls out the OSD information and mixes (keys) the text and bar graphs onto the video
stream. This video goes out digitally through a parallel to serial converter as well as analog through a
composite encoder.
The CPU also gets push button and toggle switch commands from the card edge controls and draws
extensive menus for configuring the operation of the card.
General purpose inputs are used for remote control of some features and general purpose outputs are
generated under error conditions.
