• "rEtd": Factory default is set to LOCL (Temp. Controller).
The setting can be change between "LOCL", "rdU", or
"StAt". Selecting "LOCL" or "rdU" will allow either the
Temperature Controller (LOCL) or the RDU (rdU) to
monitor and modulate the actuator valve based on the SP.
Selecting "StAt" will allow the remote thermostat to cycle
the heater from lo to hi based on the "dhi" setpoint. (MUST
have the optional RDU or remote thermostat connected
to the Temperature Controller to operate in either "rdU" or
"StAt" mode.)
• "dhi": Sets the high discharge temperature when
selecting "StAt" mode. The default dhi setpoint is set to
130°F (54.5°C). The high discharge temperature can be
set from 70-190°F (21.1-87.8°C).
• "ForC": Sets the controller to display either Fahrenheit
(°F) or Celsius (C).
Programming
Accessing the menu in the Temperature Controller:
• If a key is not pressed for 10 seconds while in the main
menu, the controller will return to normal mode.

(F) Gas Selector Valve
A valve to select between propane gas or natural gas
The heater is shipped from the factory with the fuel selector
valves in the propane gas (LP) position. Ensure the fuel
selector valve's handles is properly positioned in the heater
for the fuel being used. THIS IS NEITHER A MANUAL GAS
SHUT OFF NOR A VARIABLE RATE VALVE. The valve
handle must be properly positioned for the specific gas
being used, otherwise the unit will over fired or underheat.

WARNING
Failure to follow this warning will result in high limit
tripping more frequently, fire, or property damage.
See label for proper handle position per gas. Do
not operate the heater with the valve handle set between
either position, otherwise improper operation will occur.
(G) Modulating Actuator Valve
An automated valve that is used to control the amount of gas
flow based on the voltage suppled by the Temp. Controller.
(H) Solenoid Valves
Dual valves controlled by an electric current (120VAC) to
moves a plunger to an open position.
(J) LINK Power Panel
The power panel for the optional telematics L.B. White LINK.
(Sold separately, 500-133950)
The Commander 500/1000 are factory configured to be
L.B. White LINK Ready. For more information on the L.B.

(K) Regulator
Output pressure is pre-set at the factory. DO NOT ADJUST
THE REGULATOR OUTLET PRESSURE.
Doing so will affect the heater operation. Maximum inlet
pressure to regulator inlet is 13.8 in. W.C.
(L) Minicontactor
A 3 pole normally open electrically-controlled switch
used for switching an electrical power circuit ON or OFF.
(M) Circuit Breaker
A 2-pole thermal-magnetic miniature circuit breaker.
(N) Transformer (CM1000 only)
Reduces 240VAC to 120VAC
