Chapter 5 – Modem Configuration

C
ONFIGURING
By default the cellular modem acts as a router, and performs Network Address Translation between the internal
(Ethernet) interface and the external (cellular network) facing interface. As a consequence, communications
originating from the Internet will be unable to reach the MultiLoad. This can be overcome by forwarding specific
ports. It is recommended that port 80 be forwarded to allow access to the MultiLoad web page, as well as port
7734 for MultiMate.
1. Access the administrative interface using the instructions in the previous section.
2. Click on the Security tab.
3. Click on the Add More button to add a new row.
4. In the new row, enter the following information:
a. Public Start Port: 80 (the external port to forward)
b. Public Stop Port: 80
c. Host I/F: Ethernet
d. Host IP: 192.168.13.13 (the IP address of the MultiLoad)
e. Private Port: 80 (the port to forward to on the MultiLoad)
5. Repeat step 4 for port 7734.
6. Update the Number of PF Entries field to reflect the number of rows (in this example, 2).
7. Click Apply.
8. Click Reboot.
