Removing the G2/G3 QIP Pin

1. Attach the ratchet to
one end of the
extender, and the
bolt extractor to the
other end of the
extender, as shown
in Figure 2.
2. Make sure that the
ratchet is set for
loosening.
3. Look inside the QIP bay and locate the old pin; it's the larger of the two pins protruding from
either end of the board, and not the one at the end of the white 300-pin connector.
Note: In a Spectra T120 library, the pin is near the top of the board. In a Spectra T950
library, the pin is near on the bottom of the board.

4. Carefully reach the extractor inside the library and fit it over the pin, taking extra care not to
damage the 300-pin connector.
5. Unscrew the pin until it comes loose from the board, then remove the pin from the QIP bay.
6. Proceed to Installing the G4/G5 QIP Pin on page 9.
