PED. REG (Pedal Registration) Edit Menu

54
This Edit Menu allows you to select and edit the registrations for the Pedal Drawbars.
Before editing these Parameters, it is a good idea first to select the Custom Pedal Registration you want to modify. You can then save your
changes to your own Custom Pedal Registration. The Custom Pedal Registrations which can be overwritten are the User Registrations,
which are prefaced by a "U" in the display.
To locate this Menu, follow the steps below:
❶ CUSTOM PR NUMBER (P)
This allows you to select the Custom Pedal Registration Number to use in a Patch. The
setting range is "F1" to "F3" (non-rewritable) and "U1" to "U3" (rewritable).
NOTE: The "F" stands for Factory. Factory settings are permanently stored in memory
and cannot be changed. Therefore, if you wish to edit or creata a Custom Pedal Reg-
istration, use the "U" or User settings, which can be overwritten with your settings.
NOTE: If any of the Pedal Registration parameters are edited, an asterisk ("*") will
show in the upper left corner of the display. To save the changes you have made, save
them as a Custom Pedal Registration. This is explained on the next page.
NOTE: This parameter is a Patch Parameter and is recorded as part of a Patch.
u CUSTOM PEDAL REGISTRATION PARAMETERS
All of the parameters described below and on the next page collectively comprise a Cus-
tom Pedal Registration. These parameters cannot be saved as individual Patch Param-
eters; however a Custom Pedal Registration can be recorded as part of a Patch.
❷ CUSTOM PR NAME (PR)
This allows you to name the Custom Pedal Registration using up to 10 characters.
Use the []] Touch Buttons to move the cursor, then use the [VALUE] Rotary Knob
to select characters.
NOTE: See page 56 for detailed instructions on naming Custom Pedal Registrations.
❸ SUB DRAWBAR - 16´ (PR)
This allows you to adjust the registration for the 16'Pedal Drawbar.
Adjustable footages are 16´, 51/3´, 8´, 4´, 22/3´, 2´, 13/5´, and 11/3´.
NOTE:
The footages 22/3´, 2´, 13/5´ and 11/3´ in the Sub Drawbar 16´ has softer maxi-
mum volume than other footages to allow fine volume adjustment.
❹ SUB DRAWBAR - 8´ (PR)
This allows you to adjust the registration for the 8' Pedal Drawbar.
Adjustable footages are 8´, 4´, 22/3´, 2´, 13/ 5 ´, and 11/3´.

REGISTRATION?"
"WHAT IS A "CUSTOM PEDAL
On a tone-wheel Hammond Organ, the harmon-
ic resources for Pedal tones are combined into
two Drawbars each of which draws a combina-
tion of harmonics instead of individual harmon-
ics as with the Manual Drawbars. Over the years,
several different schemes were used to voice the
Pedal Drawbars. The following pages explain
how to set the various harmonics to create Cus-
tom Pedal Registrations.
The XK-5 has 6 different Custom Pedal Registra-
tions. Three (3) of these are User registrations
(indicated by a "U") while the other three (3) are
Factory registrations (indicated by an "F"). The
Factory registrations are permanently written in
memory, but the User registrations can be over-
written with your own settings. You can even re-
name them if you wish.
The first two pages of the PED. REG. Edit Menu
allow you to select the Custom Pedal Registra-
tion you wish to use or modify, as well as name a
Custom Pedal Registration you have created. The
remaining pages allow you to modify the har-
monic content of the selected registration. After
you have made all of your changes, you can save
them as a Custom Pedal Registration.
Please consult pages 55 and 56 for more infor-
mation about creating, saving and naming your
own Custom Pedal Registrations. Also consult
the APPENDIX at the back of this Guide for a list
of the preset Custom Pedal Registrations.
