❽ UPPER ZONE OCTAVE
This allows you to select the octave in which the Drawbars will sound for the Upper Manual.
You can select "-2" (up to two octaves down) through +2" (up to two octaves up).
❾ UPPER ZONE LOW
❿ UPPER ZONE HIGH
These two parameters allow you to set the Low and High note ranges for the Upper Manual Drawbar
tones.
You can select from "1C" through "6C" (the lowest and highest playing keys).
⓫ LOWER ZONE - OCTAVE
This allows you to select the octave in which the Drawbars will sound for the Lower Manual.
You can select "-2" (up to two octaves down) through +2" (up to two octaves up).
⓬ LOWER ZONE - LOW
⓭ LOWER ZONE - HIGH
This allows you to allows you to set the Low and High note ranges for the Lower Manual Drawbar
tones.
You can select from "1C" through "6C" (the lowest and highest playing keys).

u PEDALS
⓮ ORGAN TYPE
This allows you to set the Organ type for the Pedals.
Normal:
Traditional Tone Wheel sound of the B-3/C-3.
⓯ ENVELOPE
This allows you to set the Attack and Release characteristics of the Pedal tones.
NOTE: See ❷ for details.
⓰ KEY MODE
This allows you to set the Pedal polyphony.
POLY:
Up to 3 notes will play simultaneously.
MONO:
If multiple notes are played, only the lowest note will sound.
⓱ ENVELOPE - DECAY RATE
This allows you to determine whether the Pedal tone remains at the same volume as a note is held, or
if the voice decays as a note is held, similar to a plucked string.
The setting range is 1(short) - 5(long) and C(continuous).
⓲ ENVELOPE - SUSTAIN LENGTH
This allows you to set the Release Rate (= the decay time after key release), when the [PEDAL SUS-
TAIN] Touch Button is ON. You can select from "1" (the shortest), through "5" (the longest decay
time).
NOTE: You can also locate this page by pressing and holding the [PEDAL SUSTAIN] Touch Button.
⓳ VELOCITY
This allows you to set the velocity response. You can select "OFF" (the volume does not change
regardless of finger pressure on the keys), or from "1" through "4" (the sounds gets louder even if the
key is played softly.)

select from "1C" through "3C" (the lowest and highest notes).

NOTE: All these are Patch Parameters and can be stored to individual Patches.
On an organ, such as the XK-5, the word
"SUSTAIN" refers to the amount of time
a note continues to sound after a key is
released. On a synthesizer this would be
called "T4" or "Release. "
On the XK-5, "ZONES" refer to playing
ranges. There are INTERNAL Zones (or
"Keyboard Channels") for the Drawbar,
Percussion and Pedal tones of the XK-
5, and EXTERNAL Zones for controlling
MIDI instruments connected to
XK-5 .
