This mode allows you to update the system software of the XK-5 either from a USB flash drive or the internal memory.
To update the system, download the updator and load into the XK-5.
To locate this Menu, follow the steps below:

IMPORTANT: The update process may take as long as 15 min-
utes depending on the extent of the update. Therefore, if you
are updating the System Software, be sure you set aside enough
time in an environment with a continuous AC power supply.

The update files will be found on the Hammond website. Down-
load the update file(s) to your computer. It is recommended that
you download the update file to your Desktop.

The update file will most likely be in a compressed format (.ZIP).
Therefore, unzip the file. The unzip procedure will automatically
create and name a folder to which to copy the unzipped files.

Insert a USB Flash Drive that has been previous formatted in the
XK-5 into an open USB port on your computer. Wait for the
computer to find the drive and assign it a drive letter.

Open the folder containing the unzipped files. These should have
a .SYS extension. Copy these files into the "SYS" folder on your
USB Flash Drive.

After doing the above, remove the USB Flash Drive from your
computer and insert it into the USB port of your XK-5. The dis-
play will show:

UPDATE Edit Menu

Follow the steps in the diagram at the top of the page to access the
UPDATE Edit Menu. You will first be asked from which media
you want to read the Update files.
Select the USB Flash or the INTERNAL MEM with the [VALUE]
Rotary Knob and make your selection with the [ENTER] Touch
Button.
NOTE: This message only displays when a USB Flash Drive is
inserted.
NOTE: If there are no System (.SYS) files on the USB Flash Drive,
the display will show:

After you touch the [ENTER] Touch Button, the update proce-
dure will start. The display will show a Status Bar and a percentage
for about
