Replacing the fan

Incorrect fan type
The industrial PC may be damaged if the wrong type of fan is installed.
• Only replace the fans with a fan from Beckhoff Service.
Before you can replace the fan and CPU cooler, you must gain access to the interior of the industrial PC
(see chapter 7.2.1 Access to device components [} 39]). You must switch off the industrial PC before you can
replace the fan or CPU cooler.
In the basic configuration, there is a 120 x 120 x 25 mm fan behind the front of the industrial PC. Your PC is
equipped with three 5¼-inch drive slots in that case. Should you have ordered your PC with six 5¼-inch
drive slots, there are two 60 x 60 x 25 mm fans behind the front of the device. The fans are replaced in the
same way.
The following table provides information about the assignment of the fan connectors on the motherboard and
the respective fan options.

Follow the steps below to replace the fans, as shown in Figure 40:
1. Loosen and remove the two M4 screws of the filter cover (section A).
2. Remove the filter cover (section B).
3. Remove the filter mat (section C).
4. Loosen and remove the four M4 screws of the fan (section D).
5. Disconnect the supply cable of the fan from the motherboard.
6. Remove the fan (section E).
