Installing the Backplane
1. Place the backplane in the chassis and tighten the screw to secure it to the
storage chassis.
2. Tighten the five screws securing the HDD brackets.
3. Place the HDD support partitions in the chassis and secure them with the four
screws previously set aside.
4. Return the hard drives and carriers by placing them into the storage chassis.
5. Plug the power cords into the rear of the power supplies and power up the
system.
6-12 Installing the Cable Management Arm
The SC946LTS chassis supports a cable management arm (CMA) that keeps the
rear cables organized and clear of the rail mechanisms when the system is extended
out the front of the rack for maintenance. The kit includes six fabric Velcro cable ties.
The CMA attaches to the rack mounting rails by means of four connectors. They
are labeled on the connectors 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Installing the Cable Management Arm
1. Slide CMA connector #1 forward onto the two posts on the rear of the right
inner rail (right side when viewed from the front). It snaps into place.
2. Slide CMA connector #2 forward onto the two posts on the rear of the right
middle rail. It snaps into place.
