Important
Once the protective cover is re-
moved, toner can spill from the
cartridge easily. Take care to
avoid subjecting the toner car-
tridge to vibration and impact
after removing the protective
cover.

Slowly and carefully slide the new
toner cartridge into the printer.

Do not push the toner cartridge
with force. If you do, the printer
might be damaged. If it sticks,
pull it out and try again.

Close the front cover. Press the
center of the cover until it locks se-
curely into place.

At this time, the "Add Toner" mes-
sage clears from the panel display
and the printer starts warming up.

Replacing the Photoconductor
Unit
The message shown below indicates
that the photoconductor unit is ap-
proaching the end of its life.
You can still continue using the cur-
rent photoconductor unit if you are
satisfied with the quality of the out-
put being produced by the printer.
When the printed image starts look-
ing soiled (horizontal lines along the
edges of the page, for example), re-
place the photoconductor unit as soon
as possible.

• Do not incinerate the photo-
conductor unit. Toner dust
might ignite when exposed to
an open flame.
• Disposal can take place at our
authorized dealer or at appro-
priate collection sites.
• If you dispose of the used
photoconductor unit yourself,
dispose of it according to lo-
cal regulations.
R CAUTION
• When accessing the inside of
the machine, do not touch any
sections other than those speci-
fied in this manual. If you do, it
might result in receiving a burn

when the paper tray is pulled out
