From the Diagnostics menu, select Temperature Controller. A Temperature Controller window
displays.

Click Initialize.

Click System Enable both from the Temperature Controller window and on the front panel of the
instrument.

Click Furnace Enable both from the Temperature Controller window and on the front panel of the
instrument.

Enter 200 in the field next to the Setpoint button. Do not click the Setpoint button.

Enter 10 in the field next to Ramp Rate and click Ramp Rate.

Enter 120 in the field next to Ramp Dwell and click Ramp Dwell.

Click Ramp Setpoint to start heating.
10 After 2 hours at 200°C, the heating stops and the system cools down.
The next time that the furnace is used for a new test, the vacuum should be below 50 mTorr in less than 30
minutes.
