Procedure 11
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the system board is providing the necessary
voltages to the HDD LED. To perform this procedure, perform the following Check.
Check Measure the voltage between pins 15 and 16 at J10K1 (HDD LED connector) on
the system board.
If the voltage fluctuates between 0.4VDC and 2 VDC when the HDD is accessed,
perform Procedure 12. If the voltage does not fluctuate between these two
voltages, perform Procedure 13.
Procedure 12
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the HDD LED is defective. To perform this
procedure, perform the following Check.
Check (A) Replace the HDD (refer to section 4.6.). (B) Test to determine if the problem
still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform the Problem Definition Process. If the problem
no longer exists, perform the Repair Completion Process.
Procedure 13
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the system board is defective, causing the
LED problem. To perform this procedure, perform the following Check.
Check (A) Replace the system board (refer to section 4.9.). (B) Test to determine if the
problem still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform the Problem Definition Process. If the problem
no longer exists, perform the Repair Completion Process.
Floppy Disk Drive (FDD) Troubleshooting Process
This section describes how to determine if the FDD is operating properly. To perform this
process, begin with Procedure 1 and perform the remaining procedures as instructed. The
procedures described in this section include:

The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the system boots from the FDD. To perform
this procedure, complete the following instructions, then begin with Check 1 and continue as
directed.
