Procedure 7
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the system board is providing the appropriate
voltages to the Power/Sleep LED. To perform this procedure, perform the following check.
Check
Measure the voltages between pins 18 and 20 at J10K1 (Power/Sleep LED
connector) on the system board when the system is turned on but not in Sleep
mode.
If the voltage remains constant at 5VDC, perform Procedure 8. If the voltage does
not remain constant at 5VDC, perform Procedure 13.
Procedure 8
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the Power/Sleep LED is defective. To
perform this procedure, perform the following Check.
Check
(A) Replace the Power/Sleep LED. (B) Test to determine if the problem still
exists.
If the problem still exists, perform the Problem Definition Process. If the problem
no longer exists, perform the Repair Completion Process.
Procedure 9
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the FDD LED (hard-wired into the FDD) is
defective. To perform this procedure, perform the following Check.
Check
(A) Replace the FDD (refer to section 4.8.). (B) Test to determine if the problem
still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform the Problem Definition Process. If the problem
no longer exists, perform the Repair Completion Process.
Procedure 10
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the CD-ROM drive LED (hard-wired into the
CD-ROM drive) is defective. To perform this procedure, perform the following Check.
Check
(A) Replace the CD-ROM drive (refer to section 4.7.). (B) Test to determine if the
problem still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform the Problem Definition Process. If the problem
no longer exists, perform the Repair Completion Process.
