Table 2-1 System Board FRU Problems/Symptoms
Problem
Microprocessor is missing or damaged.
(If you find it necessary to remove or replace
the microprocessor, refer to section 4.10.)
SIMM memory modules are missing, damaged,
or improperly installed.
(If you find it necessary to remove or replace
SIMM memory modules, refer to section 4.11.)
RTC battery is missing, damaged, or
improperly installed.
(If you find it necessary to remove or replace
the RTC battery, refer to section 4.12.)
Procedure 1
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if BIOS testing has identified a problem with
the system board. The Initial Reliability Test (IRT) within the BIOS checks the system board
for possible problems or errors. When the IRT detects an error, the system halts and a
corresponding beep code is sounded. To perform this procedure, perform the following

If the system halts and a beep code is sounded, refer to Table 2-2 for BIOS beep
codes and the corresponding actions. If no beep codes are sounded, perform
