Procedure 4
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the new Infinia™ mouse operates properly.
To perform this procedure, perform the following Check.
Check
(A) Replace the defective mouse with a new Infinia™ mouse (refer to section
4.14.). (B) Test to determine if the problem still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform Procedure 5. If the problem no longer exists,
perform the Repair Completion Process.
Procedure 5
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the system board is defective. To perform
this procedure, perform the following Check.
Check
(A) Replace the system board (refer to section 4.9.). (B) Test to determine if the
original problem still exists.
If the original problem still exists, perform the Problem Definition Process. If the
original problem no longer exists, perform the Repair Completion Process.
No Trouble Found Process
The purpose of this process is to perform specific tests and diagnostics to ensure that no
problems exist with the system. To perform this process, begin with Step 1 and perform the
remaining steps as instructed.
Step 1
(A) Run a diagnostics program and test the system (refer to Chapter 3).
If the diagnostic tests report problems, perform the Problem Definition Process. If
no problems are reported, perform Step 2.
Step 2
(A) Inform the customer that the problem could not be duplicated. (B) Attempt to
obtain further details about the problem. (C) Perform Step 3.
Step 3
Determine if the system fails intermittently or under certain ambient conditions.
If the system fails under these conditions, perform Step 4. If the system does not
fail under these conditions, perform Step 5.
Step 4
Simulate the conditions related to the reported problem and attempt to duplicate
the failure.
If the problem can be duplicated, perform the Problem Definition Process. If the
problem cannot be duplicated, perform Step 5.
Step 5
Disassemble and inspect the system (refer to Chapter 4).
If there is any obvious damage, perform Step 6. If there is no obvious damage,
perform Step 7.
Step 6
(A) Repair or replace the damaged FRU(s) (refer to Chapter 4). (B) Perform Step
7.
Step 7
Determine if there are any missing or damaged stand-off or incorrectly-sized
screws.
