Procedure 6
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the telephone and the answering machine
operational software operates properly. Properly operating telephone or answering machine
software could indicate a defective InTouch™ Module. To perform this procedure, begin
with Check 1 and continue as instructed.
Check 1
(A) Inspect the modem card and the ISA slot (in which the card is installed) for
damage. (B) Verify that the modem card is properly inserted in the appropriate
ISA slot. (C) Replace the modem card if it is damaged or properly install the card
in the ISA slot (refer to section 4.4.). (D) Test the telephone or answering
machine software to determine if the problem still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform Check 2. If the problem no longer exists,
perform Procedure 8.
Check 2
(A) Replace the modem card (refer to section 4.4.). (B) Test to determine if the
original problem still exists.
If the original problem still exists, perform the Problem Definition Process. If the
original no longer exists, perform the Repair Completion Process.
Procedure 7
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if TV and radio operational software operates
properly. Properly operating TV or radio could indicate a defective InTouch™ Module. To
perform this procedure, begin with Check 1 and continue as instructed.
Check 1
(A) Inspect the TV Tuner Card and the PCI slot (in which the card is installed) for
damage. (B) Verify that the TV Tuner Card is properly inserted in the
appropriate PCI slot. (C) Replace the TV Tuner Card if it is damaged, or
properly install the card into the appropriate PCI slot (refer to section 4.5.).
(D) Test the TV or radio software to determine if the problem still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform Check 2. If the problem no longer exists,
perform Procedure 8.
Check 2
(A) Replace the TV Tuner Card (refer to Section 4.5.). (B) Test to determine if
the original problem still exists.
If the original problem still exists, perform the Problem Definition Process. If the
original problem no longer exists, perform the Repair Completion Process.
Procedure 8
The purpose of this test is to determine if the original InTouch™ Module is defective. To
perform this procedure begin with Check 1 and continue as instructed.
Check 1
(A) Replace the InTouch™ Module (refer to section 4.16.). (B) Test the module
to determine if the problem still exists.
If the problem still exists, perform Procedure 9. If the problem no longer exists,
perform Check 2.
