Remove the front I/O assembly

Use this information to remove the front I/O assembly.
About this task
The following illustrates how to remove the front I/O assembly with diagnostics panel. You can remove other
front I/O assemblies in the same way.
Attention:
• Read "Installation guidelines" on page 83 to ensure that you work safely.
• Power off the server and disconnect all power cords for this task.
• Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-
sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices with
an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system.

Procedure
Step 1.
Remove the top cover. See "Remove the top cover" on page 220.
Step 2.
If the security bezel is installed, remove it. See "Remove the security bezel" on page 203.
Step 3.
Disconnect the front I/O cables from the system board.
Step 4.
Remove the front I/O assembly.

Remove the screws that secure the front I/O assembly.

Slide the front I/O assembly out of the front chassis.
After you finish
If you are instructed to return the old front I/O assembly, follow all packaging instructions and use any
packaging materials that are provided.
