Card Printer Advanced Setup

Advanced settings allow access to advanced features for the SMART-81 printer.



Changes to these settings should only be made under the direction of IDP Support.

To set the printer's information

Change Printer ID: When using the SDK, you can set a unique ID for the SMART-

81 printer regardless of whether it is connected by USB or the IP address. This is

useful to connect and use several printers at once. Default ID is "SMART"

Set PC Serial: This is a security feature that works in conjunction with "Security" –

"PC Authentication". PC Authentication locks the printer to a specific PC. In the

event that a printer is stolen or lost, it will not be operable with a different PC. By

clicking on "Set PC Serial", that specific PC's unique information will be stored on

the printer.

Change Head: When you replace a thermal print head, you must change the head

information for optimal quality. Please change the head serial number, resistor, and

type of head in the Change Head Dialog box.
