2.2.2.2 Bypass Mode
After power-on, the UPS works in bypass mode if the inverter does not start or has
been manually shut down. In normal mode, the UPS transfers to bypass mode
when it detects power unit overtemperature, overload, or other faults that may
cause the inverter to shut down. The power supply in bypass mode is not
protected by the UPS and therefore tends to be affected by the mains outage and
abnormal AC voltage waveform or frequency.

2.2.2.3 Battery Mode
If the AC input voltage of the rectifier becomes abnormal, the UPS transfers to
battery mode. The power unit obtains DC power from batteries, which is converted
into AC output over the inverter.
